To achieve that goal, my Luxury and Essential facials may be fully customized to meet all your skin care needs which will be determined during my skin analysis. I can address  issues ranging from teen acne to signs of aging skin.

Breakdown of a facial

Cleansing- The first cleanse will help break up dirt and oil on the skin as well as pollutants with a light weight cleansing oil fortified with Kukui Nut, Borage Seed, and Rice Bran oils that gently liquifies sebum and oil-based debris from the skins surface. 

The second Cleanse is to get the skin clean with a customized cleanser according to the needs of your skin.

Steaming/Steamed towels- A beneficial step in a facial. Steaming allows for deep cleansing, softens skin,  opens pores, and softens blackheads for extraction. Another great advantage of steaming is that it can boost blood circulation which is essential for the reproduction of new and healthy cells.

Exfoliating- A critical step in a facial that effectively removes the accumulation of dead skin cells from the face. These dead skin cells may cause clogging and congestion giving a dry dull appearance to the skin. Once removed, newer cells are revealed for a fresher, healthier appearance. Removing these dead skin cells also allow for better product absorbtion.

Extracting-  Safely removing impurities and congestion such as blackheads and whiteheads.

Massaging-  Relaxing, tension relieving and the favorite part of a facial for most people. Massage helps blood circulation, which in turn aids lymphatic drainage (the removal of toxins and waste from the body). A facial massage also relaxes the facial muscles and is very important in delaying the onset of wrinkles.

Masquing-  Professional masques can be used to intensify the results of your skin treatment, as they are key in treating various skin conditions such as excess oil production, prematurely-aging skin or chronic dryness. All masques can be customized with the use of concentrated complexes, serums, and boosters for amazing results.

Hydrating- Moisturizers are vital to every skin care regimen, regardless of skin condition, and do more than just moisten dehydrated skin. Emollients help lubricate skin while making if soft, pliable and smooth. Moisturizers also help to protect the skin's natural defenses against the environment while controlling moisture loss from skin. This becomes more important as we age, when the stratum corneum's (outermost skin layer) natural moisturizing factor becomes less effective at regulating the skin's water balance. Dermalogica  has a moisturizer for every skin condition; from chronically dry and prematurely-aging to skin with excess oil production and breakouts.

Sun Protection- Sunlight is without a doubt your skin's worst enemy, bombarding it on a daily basis with the UVA and UVB rays that promote premature aging and skin cancer. Therefore, a crucial last step in your skin care treatment is the application of an effective SPF. Dermalogica offers a choice of two sunscreen technologies: chemical based formulations that protect against UVA and UVB rays by absorbing them, and physical sunscreens that actually reflect damaging rays.
